Dr. Roderick MacRae has been graciously serving the Communities of Patterson, Brewster, and New Fairfield, CT for the past 30 years. Beginning with constructing his own office in the basement of his family's home in Brewster in 1979 to expanding his practice to Monument Square in Putnam Lake in 1992, Dr. MacRae has been serving children, adults and special needs patients with his gentle and patient approach and was recently named "Best Dentist in the Hudson Valley".
Surviving the Buffalo blizzard of 1977, Dr. MacRae graduated in 1978 from the University of Buffalo, qualifying in the Oral Medicine Minor Program Residency. He continued his training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine with an extended rotation in Special Care Dentistry at the Rose Kennedy Center in New York City.
In addition to duties at his private practice in Putnam Lake, Dr. MacRae is Attending Dentist at Green Chimneys Children's Services in Brewster. His professional memberships include: American Dental Association, American Association of Public Health Dentists, Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities and the Executive Committee for the Putnam County Dental Society. In addition, Dr. MacRae is a founder of the Dental Task Force for persons with Disabilities in New York State.
Dr. MacRae's teaching history includes Clinical Instructor, Department of Dentistry, Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 1980 to 1986. He is currently Adjunct Assistant Professor, Division of Community Health, Columbia University School of Dentistry and Oral Surgery.
Dr MacRae owes a lot of his success to his wife, Robin, who has served as chair assistant, receptionist and office manager in all 30 years Dr. MacRae has been practicing.
